Speaking engagements during 2014
During the years in which I have been a writer I have spoken on many occasions about my life as a writer and how it all came about, and am still doing do so in a wide variety of places and to an even wider variety of audiences. Rotary clubs, Women’s Institutes, Church meetings, U3A meetings to mention but a few, as an after dinner speaker, an after lunch speaker, in libraries, at writers’ tutorials, university meetings, in fact just about everywhere to just about everyone.
We always have a good laugh about incidents that have occurred and my opening line is often “When I was born I was not expected to live. . .” I usually follow my talks with a reading from my latest novel and a question and answer session. I also have had bookmarks printed with all my novels, in the Turnham Malpas series and in the Barleybridge series listed in chronological order and distribute them to everyone. These are wonderfully handy when visiting the library or bookshop!!
I never undertake to promise more than one talk a month. Delighted as I am that my readers invite me to speak I am usually shattered by the time the meeting concludes and need time to recover, to say nothing of needing time to write the current novel (!) and time to fit in family life too!
So if you like the idea make contact with my publisher Orion Books or dash off an e-mail to rebecca@rebeccashaw.me and we’ll see what we can arrange.
News
The one off novel called THE HOUSE AT SPINNAKER COVE is now on sale as an ebook. The release has been a great success and has some lovely reviews left from the readers.
THANK YOU!
The next one to watch out for is ebook called CURTAIN UP which will be available from August 2014. This is a novel about the members of a fictional Amateur Dramatic Society and the hazards and thrills of producing a play. These two novels will initially be ebooks only and not in printed form.

The next of the Turnham Malpas series is also due for release in August, see what happens next with VILLAGE RUMOURS.
The big supermarket chain Sainsbury's is to put on sale A Country Affair from the Barleybridge series making the paperback a must have book for summer reading for 2014.
The paperbook will cost £1.99 and be available from 9th June until 3rd September.
